It does seem that this present government is loosening up legislation, laws and rules which can only really effect the standard of life, all done under the banner of saving the tax payer. But in truth it is the same old Tory government with the same Tory policies. Sorry to go political, which is hard but I actually fear for the future of this green and pleasant land. But generally speaking if there is a good defence an insurer will run with it. It's basically a myth that Insurers just roll over and pay everything. They don't want to pay anything there in it to make money after all. Mind you I had a staff member cut her finger whilst cleaning an item (she had been given the training etc. and it was all documented). Our Insurance Company still paid out as it was less money than going to court. Obviously the more searious an injury the more money and so would be contested. <br /><br />The main problem is that employers often fail to put someone with enough knowledge in place to keep up with the correct procedures and when they do balk at the cost of compliance even when it's not that expensive.
